Subject: The Story of Anthony Coombs and his Descendants
Much of the family structure information in this book is of use as a starting point for doing additional research. Unfortunately, Mr. Coombs' research is totally undocumented and rife with errors. Therefore, all of the data cited needs to be independently verified before being accepted as fact.

Also, the author spends a great deal of time and effort creating a romantic "French" origin for Anthony Coombs based on oral traditions that cannot be supported by the available facts. There is no documented data concerning Anthony prior to 1684. And there centainly is no reason to believe that a "Frenchman" who could not sign his name to any of the existing documents (he signed by making his mark) would have been able to read an English Bible and therefore run away to America.
